Checklist -- Debugging the Blue Dot Positioning in your campus

Based on Cisco Spaces (or CMX)

  1. The tester should be on-site and has access to:

    1. MazeMap app from App or Play Store

    2. https://debug.mazemap.com/lipi/ (if the campus has LIPI which would allow blue dot positioning in webview/browser)

    3. https://dnaspaces.eu/login (esp. Cisco Spaces Detect & Locate)

    4. https://use.mazemap.com/?enable_native_debug=DgYFBwsAAAwCBQgABAoCCw https://mazemap.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/MCSH/pages/706478086

    5. https://admin.mazemap.com/#!/dnaspaces/ (Make sure that the tester has administrative customer-specific access to Indoor Positioning in the Map Editor)

  2. The testing device should either be IOS or Android, has its GPS turned on and is connected to the public network where blue dot positioning should be working.

  3. Verify that you have the right Partner Tenant ID in the campus you are testing and that each floors are GPS-marked in DNA Center or Cisco Prime.

  4. Verify if the floor and building you are going to test is included in the Location Hierarchy of Cisco Spaces. Concurrently, please check if the location hierarchy code per floor matches the floor regexes of the Z level mapping in MazeMap https://admin.mazemap.com/#!/customers/347/campus/714/positioning/

  5. Please find out the IP address of your device before starting the test.

  6. Now you are ready to test.

Make sure that the testing team has access to Cisco Spaces Detect and Locate and can see said service in real time. Check them “side-by-side”.

It is important to see if the blue dot in MazeMap is following the movement of the CS D&L green dot (representing the associated device) though some reasonable allowance of latency should be expected. That green dot is what is being visualized in MazeMap. If they matched, then the issue is most likely with Cisco.

Evaluate if this is a TAC case or just an adjustment of configuration in Cisco Spaces.

Based on IndoorAtlas (IA)

  1. The tester is on-site and has access to:

a. MazeMap app from App or PlayStore;

b. IOS - Indoor Positioning for IndoorAtlas / Android - MapCreator 2;

2. Make sure that the first part of the test should be centered on the IndoorAtlas app.

a. Ground Truth should be turned on

b.

c.

3. Errors or questions at this point should be addressed to IndoorAtlas support.

4. When everything is fine until Item No. 5, then use the Debug View in 1c.
