The Mazemap Resource Booking feature enables convenient space bookings in a hybrid work environment. This feature is customizable for booking various spaces such as rooms, workspaces and desks.
Customers have the option to import resource details from supported external calendars, such as Google or Office 365, or use Mazemap's built-in hybrid desks solution service. This service is particularly useful for adding desks that are not available in a standard calendar provider.
Note: For resource booking, MazeMap only supports users from G suite or corporate instances of Google calendar. Personal Google accounts are not supported.
1) Sign Up and Consent
Go to your Calendar settings here: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/r/settings?tab=mc
Check if the room is found under “Settings for my calendars.” If it is, proceed to Step 3. If not, do the steps below:
2a. Under the “Add calendar”, select “Subscribe to calendar” or “Browse resources” to find meeting rooms in your organization.
2b. Search for the room name that you wish to add. This room will now appear on “Settings for my calendars”. Proceed to Step 3.
3. Select the room you wish to edit under “Settings for my calendars.”
4. Public vs Private Calendars
Public Calendar: (If you choose to have your room calendar available to the public, room booking visualization will work by default). Scroll down to “Access permissions” and make sure the box “Make available to public” is checked. Proceed to Step 5.
Private Calendar (If you choose to have private room calendars, you must share it for room booking visualization to work.) Scroll down to “Access permissions” and make sure the box “Make available to public” is unchecked. Do the steps below:
4a. Scroll down to “Share with specific people” and select “Add people”
4b. Add room-booking@mm-prod-app.iam.gserviceaccount.com and select “send”. User with login credentials will now be able to see the room schedule in your map. Proceed to Step 5.
5. Create a request with MazeMap Support for activation of this feature.
