Please refer to How do I fill out the Point of Interests List (spreadsheet)? to guide you in preparing your POI List.

However, if you are going to import the list (spreadsheet) for your External POIs with long-lat coordinates, please refer to POI Import for External POIs .

The following are the three (3) important information that this document intends to share with you regarding your POI Import List.

  • To guide you on how to import (upload) the list/spreadsheet of your indoor POIs to the Map Editor tool.

  • To show you how to properly tag your list so the information there will be shown in the MazeMap app / use.mazemap.com (i.e., putting in POI Title, setting types or categories, giving different searchable names to your POIs etc, in bulk).

  • To guide you on how to make your POIs richer by putting in specific URLs and Descriptions for all your relevant POIs (in bulk) using your POI List

Procedure:

  1. In the Map Editor, click Points of Interest menu followed by POI Import.

2. Click the green button shown below to add a new list.

3. A dialogue box will appear. Click and download the appropriate template (NB: “Floorplan Label Configuration” for standard POI list using CAD data). Fill it in. Save the said list in your drive. Follow the instructions shown below to upload your list.

4. Click the “Upload File button” and you’ll be directed to your drive to choose a file to upload.

5. This screen showing the spreadsheet will appear. Drag and drop the feature (blue) tiles to each column header (i.e., External ID, Floorplan Label or what is commonly called as POI Title, Type of room (category), Searchable names, Description, URL).

NB: The header “Text shown in map” sets the title of the POI and gets the highest priority (in terms of visibility and searchability) while the header “Type of Room” lets you set or even create the category/type of the POI

NB: This is a screenshot of the Information box of a POI in use.mazemap.com. While most of the data/information from the other columns go directly to the floorplan configuration, those in the URL and Description columns as shown above, go directly to this POI Information box, thus, turning an ordinary POI into a Rich POI.

6. Don’t forget to click “Save changes as new version” on the left side bar, as shown on the screenshot of the spreadsheet above. Then go back to the Point of Interest sub-menu, “ Run Update”

7. You will be directed to the screen below. Click “Import POI data” and the changes will be visible in the Map Editor tool. When you are satisfied with the changes, click “Start publish process” and all these changes will be visible in MazeMap app / use.mazemap.com.
