Introduction
This document provides an example training plan for organisations using the MazeMap Wayfinding and Mapping System. This plan serves as a template and will be customised based on each organisation's specific needs, operational requirements, and security policies. This document outlines the training plan for organisations using the MazeMap Wayfinding and Mapping System.
The plan is designed to ensure that staff and users are fully equipped to manage and utilise the system efficiently before deployment. The training will be tailored collaboratively with each organisation to align with operational needs, accessibility requirements, and security protocols.
Training Objectives
Provide organizations with a foundational understanding and knowledge of MazeMap’s features and capabilities.
Develop staff proficiency in managing maps, points of interest (POIs), and paths to ensure up-to-date maps and information.
Address accessibility needs and compliance with organizational security policies.
Provide tips and best practices for staff assisting visitors and users in navigation.
Training Plan Development Process
To ensure the training plan is fully aligned with organisational needs, the following steps will be taken:
Stakeholder Consultation – Identify key personnel and training participants.
Requirement Gathering – Define organisation-specific use cases and challenges.
Tailoring the Training Approach – Adjust content, methods, and materials as required.
Implementation & Feedback Loop – Conduct training, assess effectiveness, and refine as needed.
Plan refresher training for ongoing skill development and feature updates.
Training Methods
Trainer-led sessions: Either In-person or video conference with live demonstrations and interactive workshops.
Online self-paced learning: Documentation, examples, and guides for staff reference.
Role-based training: Tailored sessions for different user groups to ensure relevant skill development.
Training User Groups
MazeMap will provide training for key staff members, including Administrators, IT & Technical Support Staff, and Operational Staff who will assist users. The MazeMap interface is designed to be simple and intuitive, and a comprehensive manual will be provided to customers for reference.
Administrators – Users with access to the MazeMap Admin Tool who can:
Manage Points of Interest (POIs)
Manage paths and wayfinding
Import POIs
Export maps
Manage users
Manage kiosks
IT & Technical Support Staff – Users responsible for:
implementing system intergrations
system maintenance
and providing technical support
Staff Users – Users who via login have access to restricted areas or access to additional MazeMap features such as Resource Booking
Public Users – General users accessing maps via:
Organisation’s website
Digital kiosks
QR codes at key locations
Embedded links in emails or notifications
Training Timeline & Schedule
User training follows the key phases of the MazeMap implementation process to ensure alignment with project delivery milestones. Each phase of training is conducted at the appropriate stage in the implementation timeline to maximise effectiveness.
Training Timeline
Kickoff Phase: Introduction to MazeMap, account setup, and initial admin training.
Delivery Phase: Training on POI and path management, ensuring users can update and manage Point’s of Interest and Path changes
Quality Assurance (QA) Phase: Advanced feature training, enabling integration of the feature and ensuring staff can validate data and troubleshoot issues.
Go-Live Phase: Final training on operational use, public user support, and refresher sessions as needed.
