downloading nativeapp test versions

  • ask a developer (savita) to add you to app testers list by providing device email address (that is used by google play store app)

  • get the link to join testing program from developer (by pinging in #native-app-testing slack channel) and open the link in the device browser. Accept the testing program by clicking on ACCEPT INVITE button.

  • click on download it on google play

  • confirm that you are downloading the right version by clicking on arrow next to About this app and check Version in App info section. Then go back to install page and click on Install to download the app (sometimes due to caching you might have older version in which case wait for a while or clear cache and reconfirm the version

Note: if download fails uninstall current mazemap app (if present and retry download)

  • clearing cache in case of old version:

    • Open device Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → Storage

    • click on Clear cache at the bottom of the screen and try if you get new version

    • if not try in the same page Clear data

  • leave the program by opening the same link and click on LEAVE THE PROGRAM button. It is recommended that you leave the test program and install public version after testing as test versions may not work | crash when developer is working on new feature|fixes

 

Note: while accepted, user cannot download public version of the app. To get public version

  • leave the program by opening the same link and click on LEAVE THE PROGRAM button in the test program link used to join testing program

  • uninstall current mazemapp app

  • if you don’t see non-beta app in the playstore search immediately, try clearing cache described above
