How to create a Point Of Interest (POI) - point and area

Question:

How do I make a POI for a specific area/room?
Can I make a POI in a different shape?
How do I create a POI in the Map Editor?

Answer:

A POI can be a point or an area (polygon). That means that you can highlight specific points in the map or larger areas. Follow the step-by-step instructions below to create point POI or a defined area for a POI

Follow these steps to create a point POI

Start by clicking “Points Of Interest” in Map Editor

2. Click “Create POI” either in the left hand menu, or click the green button down to your right.

3. You will then get a menu on your left hand side that allows you to add POI title and choose between a point/area/grid of pois

Assign a name to the POI and hit “Enter”
Tic the box that says Point
Click in the map where you would like the POI to be placed
Click the green "Create POI" button

4. When you have placed the POI, a menu will show to the right. In the menu it is possible to add names, types, icon, colour and text.

Names: You can add names by clicking on the green “+”, type in the name and hit “Enter!. The names in the “Names”-box will be searchable in use.mazemap.com/MazeMap app.
Types: By clicking the green “+” you can add a type to your POI. That means that the POI will get the configuration as preset in the type. Learn how to create a type here.
Icon: To add an icon click on the <POI icon> in the “Appearance in map”-menu and choose your preferred icon.
Text: To change the text click on the underlined text. To hide the text, untick the box next to “Text”.
Visible on zoom levels: In the panel on the right hand side you can adjust on which zoom level the POI should we visible on. Drag the circles to get the zoom lever you prefer.

5. To delete the POI: Click on the POI you would like to delete. You will now see a menu on the right hand side. Click on the three dots up in the top right of the menu and click “Delete POI”

6. Once you are done editing the POI/POIs, click in the "Run Update" button and "Start publish process" to make the changes visible on the map. You would also have to follow this step if you have deleted a POI that already has been published

Please note that if you have published changes recently, the “Start publish process”-button will be green instead of blue

Follow these steps to create a POI as a defined area (area POI)

1.Start by clicking “Points Of Interest” in Map Editor

2. Click “Create POI” either in the left hand menu, or click the green button down to your right.

3. You will then get a menu on your left hand side that allows you to add POI title and choose between a point/area/grid of pois

1.Assign a name to the POI and hit “Enter”

2.Tic the box that says Area

3.Click around in the map until your area is shaped as you prefer. If you would like the area POI to be a circle, click “Draw Circle”, then hold and drag until you get the size you want. If you would like to edit the shape, click the “Move-shape-scale” button. Rotate by dragging the handle. If you want the shape to rotate around another point, simply move the blue circle with a black dot in it, that way when you drag the handle it will rotate around the blue and black dot. Scale by dragging the corners. Drag the blue square to move the POI.

4. Once you are happy with the shape, click the green "Create POI" button
