How to make your POIs rich? How to add Descriptions to your Rich POIs?

This help article aims to give you directions on how to manually make your ordinary POIs into Rich POIs. As a default, you can upload a picture or graphic file, a url to a website or part of your intranet or anywhere you want your end users to pay special attention to. Make your POIs even richer by adding a short description to your points of interest so that they have more meaning for the end users.

Note: The procedure to upload your Rich POIs in bulk is connected to the procedure for POI Import List,How to Import your POI List to your campus take note that in this bulk upload, only the url and description are able to be shown and graphic files for each Rich POI should be uploaded manually.

This is how a Rich POI will look in use.mazemap.com after you have added an URL, a pitcure and a description

By ckicking the blue text next to the globe you will get directed to the URL that is added for this POI. By clicking the blue “Info” text you will get a info panel on your right, like this:

Here you can see the added image, the URL and the description for the chosen POI.

Instructions

To add a text description/picture/URL to your POI, follow these steps:

1. Log in to https://admin.mazemap.com/

2. Next click on the POI icon on the left hand side bar

3. Now you’re in the POI editor, select a building that you want to make richer POIs for.

4. Select a POI within that build by clicking on it:

5. Click on the information icon in the top right corner

6. You will now see field that you can use to add your description:

7. To add information do the following:

• Add picture: Click on the “Upload Image” button to add images from your computer. NB! Max image size is 10 MB.

• Add URL: Hover over the URL field and click on the pencil that appears next to “None”. Type in the URL in the box that pops up.

• Add description: Click on the “None” text uneder “Description” and type in your description for the given POI.

8. When you have finished adding all of your descriptions/URLs/images for all your POIs, you will want to publish your changes. Start by clicking on Run Update:

9. Then you will need to select start publish process to push the changes to use.mazemap.com

Please note you will receive an automatic notification on your desktop when the changes have been uploaded. Depending on where you are globally will determine how soon you get to see these changes go live, it can take up to 2 hours.
